DPAC Appearance at House of Commons’ Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food

The House of Commons’ Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food invited Phil Vanderpol, DPAC Chair, and Mathieu Frigon, President and CEO, to appear on March 6, 2023 as part of a panel of witnesses in view of its study of Food Price Inflation. Mr. Vanderpol and Mr. Frigon spoke to the causes of inflation in the dairy processing sector and the benefits of a Grocery Code of Conduct in Canada.

The Presidents and CEOs from the country’s three largest grocery chains: Loblaw’s, Empire and Metro appeared before the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food on March 8, 2023 to discuss the grocers’ profits amid high inflation and support of a Grocery Code of Conduct. In a unanimous decision, the committee agreed to invite Walmart and Costco’s chief executives as further panel of witnesses.
